Course introduction:	Adult safeguarding is the process of protecting adults with care and support needs from abuse or neglect. It is an important part of what many public services do, but the key responsibility is with local authorities in partnership with the police and the NHS. The Care Act 2014 puts adult safeguarding on a legal footing.
Course objectives:	In this course you will learn about: Understand the safeguarding provisions of the Care Act 2014 Recognize the legal responsibilities of local authorities in safeguarding adults Identify adults at risk of abuse or neglect. Learn how to assess care and support needs in safeguarding contexts Understand the roles of the police, NHS, and other agencies in safeguarding. Explore the different types of abuse and neglect adults may face Understand how to respond to safeguarding concerns and referrals. Develop strategies for safeguarding adults in care settings. Promote multi-agency collaboration in safeguarding efforts. Learn the procedures for managing and reviewing safeguarding cases.
